John H. Lea
John H. LEA was born in 1846 and enlisted in Confederacy in August 1864. He served with the 13th Tennessee Cavalry Regiment or Dibrell's Cavalry. He remained with this unit until they surrendered in Washington, Georgia on May 11, 1865. Each man in the unit got $26, 20$ in silver and 6$ in gold coins from the Confederate Treasury. He married Laura KEETON on February 2, 1870, and eventually settled in the Henard Community where he eked out a living by farming. John LEA passed away in 1923, just before his 77th birthday. -- contributor Edward H. Vaughn

Overton County
John W. Lee, first son of Augustine and Rachel (Nichols) Lee of White County, born Feb. 8, 1823, near Muddy Creek in Roane County.
