John HARPER is reported to have died in Civil War. His wife, Elizabeth Catherine Campbell HARPER, is listed in 1860 and later moved to Hardin Co., KY, by 1880 living with son John Calvin HARPER and family and near son Elijah HARPER. Unable to locate them prior to 1860 census. All census records list them as being born in NC and all children (John is the earliest known b. 1847) all born in TN. Unable to find marriage license, death of youngest son Alvin listed on the 1860 census as 3 yrs age not found on the 1880 or elsewhere.
