Jeremiah Brown, possibly Eliza Ellen (Claiborn) Evans
Jeremiah (Jerry) BROWN (1844-1839). He was the second husband of my great grandmother Eliza Ellen (CLAIBORN) EVANS. We believe that she is the woman in the picture with him. Jeremiah BROWN married my great grandmother after they were both widowed and he helped her raise both my grandmother and her sisters as well as my mother and her siblings after their parents died. He served during the Civil War as part of the Union Infantry - 7th Regiment, Tenessee Mounted Infantry. He and his first wife Lakey LAWSON (1845-1896) are buried in a family plot on top of a hill just off of Highway 127 south of Static. Eliza Ellen CLAIBORN EVANS BROWN is buried in Campbell Chanute Cemetery. -- Masha Rogers Miller
