This portrait is of my grandparents. It is a composite that was made from separate pictures of each of my mother's parents so that the children would have a picture of their parents who both died young. My grandmother died in 1929 and my grandfather a year later in 1930. The original was given to my mother's younger sister who was only three years old at the time of their father's death and the family wanted her to be able to know what her parents looked like. My mother was the next to youngest, being only six when her father died. -- Marsha Rogers Miller
