Cordell Hull Birthplace & Museum State Park – Pickett County
Cordell is best-known historically as the individual who pushed hardest to form the United Nations after the end of World War I. He was born near Byrdstown.
The Cordell Hull Birthplace and Museum State Park is owned and managed by the State of Tennessee. The site contains the original log cabin birthplace of the statesman and an exhibition building housing documents and artifacts, including Hull’s Nobel Peace Prize Medal.
Cordell Hull’s will provided for the placing of artifacts and books from his private apartment in a museum that opened in Pickett County in September, 1996.
