James & Mary COLSON

Not sure where they came from, they were born in Tennessee.
Moved to Henry County, Missouri sometime around 1880 – they are on the 1880 Missouri census.
James Madison COLSON 1818-1872
Mary Arms COLSON 1812-1892
Both are buried in Henry Grove Cemetery, White Oak Township, Henry County, Missouri.
A son, Roy Alexander COLSON, married Susanna Bixler in Henry Co. in 1890. Later they moved to Logan County, Illinois. Some of the COLSON descendants remain in the Henry County, Missouri area; Roy’s descendants are still in Logan County and other areas in Illinois.
Another son, Robert COLSON, was killed in the Battle of Murfreesboro (Stone’s Creek) in December, 1862 (No. 307 – Confederate Roll of Honor, TN 8th Regiment, Infantry Company B).
