We are just placed in possession of the account of a most revolting murder, committed on Friday evening last, in Obion County, Tenn. We relate it upon the authority of a gentleman of undoubted veracity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gilbert Kesee, armed with a double barrelled shot gun, and Joshua Wallace, armed with a rifle, went on Friday evening the 2nd inst., to the house of Mr. Monroe Potter. After arriving there Kesee called out Jno. Potter, Monroe\u2019s brother, who had hardly stepped out when Kesee deliberately raised his shot gun and killed him dead upon the spot, lodging eleven buck shot in his body; upon this the ruffian wheeled and fled. Monroe Potter hearing the report of the gun rushed out and tried to secure the murderer, but Kesee stopped and fired at him the other barrel load of his gun, planting the principal contents of his gun, in his victim\u2019s breast, and left him weltering in his blood. The murderers fled and as yet have not been taken. Monroe Potter, whose life is despaired of, was Kesee\u2019s brother-in-law. This more than brutal murder has caused extraordinary excitement in Obion County. We sincerely hope the bloodhounds may be secured.<\/span><\/p>\n
