It was on the site of the current City Park and baseball diamonds.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">by Jane N. Powell <span style=\"font-size: small;\">(first county-coordinator for Obion TNGenWeb)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Blue Ribbon Day, to the best of my memory, was health related and to get a blue ribbon a student had a note from their doctor, dentist and\/or the health department or someone that they were healthy and &#8220;ok.&#8221; I also think we received a &#8220;blue ribbon pin&#8221; about the size of a military good conduct medal. And there was a &#8220;Blue Ribbon&#8221; parade with floats from the different schools. I remember being chosen to ride on the Westover Float in the 2nd grade &#8212; which would have been 1937, I think.
