\nSTDS=Number of studs for taxation
\nDuring the time that these tax lists were made, county governments were organized into militia companies
\ninstead of into districts.\u00a0 Court members were selected from the companies and a tax collector from
\neach company was responsible for collecting the taxes from the members of the company.\u00a0 Roane County
\nincluded all of the present Morgan County and large areas of the present counties of Fentress, Cumberland,
\nScott and Pickett.\u00a0 The northern boundry was the Kentucky line.\u00a0 It is quite obvious that the scattered
\nsettlers in the remote parts of the county were ignored.\u00a0 It it known that there were settlers on Wolf Creek
