\nHALL, CARRIE GERTRUDE,\u00a0<\/b>67, a former resident of Lancing, TN, died Tuesday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Jessie Lee) Brumett of Rayland. Mrs. Hall was a member of the Christian Church of Lancing.\u00a0 She was born February 28, 1901, the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Julia Hall. She was preceded in death by her husband, George “Shine” Hall, and a daughter, Cherrie Bea Hall. She leaves three sons, Timberline Hall of Lancing, Ival C. Hall of Hinesville, GA and\u00a0 George Issac Hall, Jr. of Brilliant; her daughter, Mrs Brumett; four sisters, Mrs. Ida Hawn of Lancing, Mrs Nellie Melton of Wartburg, Mrs. Rose Land of Oakdale, and Mrs. Dorine Cromwell of Harford, CT; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. \ns\/o Joyce Briggs Owens Vespie and Lawrence Hines
\n~~~~VESPIE, STEVEN “BIG O”,<\/b>\u00a0 38, went to be with the Lord Monday, Dec. 10, 2001. He was saved and baptized in 1998. He was preceded in death by his step-father Wendell Vespie; maternal grandparents Dewey and Thelma Briggs; and paternal grandparents Raymond and Lorene Hines. He is survived by his mother Joyce Owens Vespie; father Lawrence Hines; brothers John Vespie, Doug Owens and Scott Hines; sisters Edwina Haas, Sherry Hines, Theresa Hines and Freddie Hines; and neices Jocelyn and Lydia Vespie and Melissa Stout. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, Dec. 13, 2001 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Bible Baptist Church in Lancing. Funeral services will begin at 7:30 p.m. with Pastor John Vespie officiating. A graveside service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Shady Grove Church Cemetery.\u00a0 [Morgan County News]
