\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To date there are recorded on the records for Christ Church only seventeen marriages.\u00a0 Three of these were not performed in Christ Church, but at the home of the bride or else-where, and number fifteen does not record the names of the bride and groom!! However, all the marriages, except number fifteen, were performed by either the Priest in Charge of Christ Church or by an Episcopal Priest.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Perhaps the most interesting and unusual wedding was that of twins, and as was fitting, it was a double wedding.\u00a0 This was the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Layton Hurst Young and Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Gilliat. Mr. Gilliat and Mrs. Young, (Clara Gilliat), were twins born near Liverpool, England and came to Rugby with their parents, Mrs. and Mrs. W. H. Gilliat in the early days of its settlement.\u00a0 Both couples celebrated Golden wedding Anniversaries.\u00a0 Mrs and Mrs. Willard Keene also celebrated a Golden Wedding Anniversary.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Marriage number fifteen was performed by a Baptist minister, permisssion having been given by the Priest in Charge of Christ Church, the Rev. Joseph Kellerman, for the use of the church for this purpose.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
