Don was a retired Lt. Col. with the United States Air Force, serving as a pilot and an active member of The Order of Daedalians. Don attended West Emory Presbyterian Church and was a graduate of Warren Wilson College, receiving his B.S. and Masters degree from Troy State University. Don was preceded in death in 2001 by: his loving wife of 45 years, Betty K. Zumstein; and son, Steven Eric Zumstein. He is survived by: his devoted wife, Sandra Swann Zumstein and her children and grandchildren; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Cindy Zumstein; grandchildren Benjamin Donald, Emily Ann and Steven Keller Zumstein; brother, Russell Zumstein and his children, Gary Zumstein and Janice Buffler.
