William Jasper Vincent, Birth July 4. 1833 in White county. died Dec 28, 1902 in Meigs county. served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He was a Sgt, Company I, 3rd Tennessee Mounted Infantry.
Also, served with the 43rd Tennessee Infantry Regiment for a time.
He was captured at Vicksburg, Mississippi July 4, 1863 & paroled later in July 1863.
He was wounded three times in that battle and remained handicapped for the rest of his life over them.
