She is a lifelong resident of the Beechfork Community in Morgan County. Dora was a member of the Beechfork Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rommie Vann, Sr. and Zell Marie Basler Vann by sisters, Doris June Portwood and Dona Marie Vann, and by a brother, James Thomas Vann. VANN, MR. PAUL BOWMAN, age 70 of Wartburg, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 24, 2006. He passed away peacefully at his home. He was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army, having served several tours of duty in Vietnam and Korea. He was also retired from Martin Marietta. He also enjoyed auto racing. VARGA, ESTHER the wife of the late Sam Varga, died Feb. 14, 1988. She was 101 years old. She was a resident of Morgan County for 71 years. She came from Fulesd, Szatmar Megye, Hungary on the ship Carpathia in 1901. She and her husband married in Ohio and later moved to Lancing in 1917.Mr. Varga died Nov. 19, 1970 at the age of 85. He operated awoodworking company in Sunbright with two of his sons, Alex Varga, and the late Joe Varga. Her children: Isabelle Sanders., Helen Fodor, Alex Varga and the late Joe and Elmer Varga. VAUGHT, CORDIA MAE WEBSTER, longtime resident of Chattanooga, died Sunday, July 19, 2009, at home. She was 66.
Mae was a native of Morgan County, Tenn., and graduated from South Harriman High School in 1961. She attended Knoxville Business College. Mae was a member of Soddy-Daisy First Baptist Church where she was active for several years. She was a volunteer for several organizations, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a true example of a kind, Christian individual. She was preceded in death by her mother, Inez Palmer Webster; her father, Orville Webster; and a brother, John Carlton Webster, all of Harriman. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jim Vaught; two daughters, Leeann Vaught (Todd) Larson, Angie Vaught (Mark) Hixson. One granddaughter, Haley Hixson; and two step-granddaughters, Taylor Hixson and Maclain Hixson; and many family and friends.
