Christian Ruffner, III was born 9/17/1834 in Maienfeld Switzerland. He came
to Wartburg in 1846 with his parents Christian Ruffner, Jr. and Cordula
Faller. He married Nancy Raby 12/28/1856 in Knoxville, TN. Christian and
Nancy had 9 children who were all born in Morgan County. He died 5/31/1879
and is buried in Davis Cemetery in Coalfield.

The name of the ship that the family came over on was Diana in October
1846. Port of departure Le Havre France….They got off in New Orleans. On
the ship was
