THOMAS V. GRANT, formerly of Morgan Co and Rockwood died 11/12/1922. He was born ll/3/1842 in Asheville, N.C. and was a Civil War Veteran. He married Mrs. Susannah Swagerty on 9/1/1889. Children; Thomas F. & William J., Mrs. Pollie M. Hail,Mrs. E.J. McKeethan. Burial in Pine Orchard Cemetery.

“GRANT:Thomas V.”,  Thomas V. —was born at Ashville, N.C., Nov. 3, 1842. He was a veteran of the Civil War; was married to Mrs. Susannah SWAGERTY  Sept. 1, 1889 and to this union was born 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. Thos. F and William J, Mrs. Pollie M. HAIL of Rockwood, and Mrs. E. J. McKEETHAN of Sunbright. He had been a citizen of Rockwood 50 years; moved to Morgan County twelve years ago, where he remained until his death, Nov. 12th. He has been a faithful member of the Baptist church at Pine Orchard for ten years. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. RAY of Eureka, Tenn., he was laid to rest in the Snow’s Chaple [Chapel] Cemetery. He leaves a wife, four children and an adopted son and a host of friends to mourn this great loss. His bereaved ones wishes too thank the many friends for their kindness shown us during the sickness and death of the dear husband and father, and for the beautiful floral offerings. Those who stood by his bedside in the last hours of his suffering, have the great consolation of knowing that he has gone to that beautiful home that is prepared for all who are faithful. Oh Lord into thy hands we command his spirit. To the bereaved ones we extend our heartfelt sympathy.
