Big Brushy Coal and Coke Co.

Here is the photo of my grandfather FLOYD K. MITCHELL  (1883 – 1976)
far right and friends, apparently inside a mine at Big Brushy.  My grandfather lived in Harriman for a short time around 1900 with his father and siblings.  His father Henry Howard Mitchell worked in the  Coke ovens for some years in Marion County so maybe he was employed there as it’s not that far away or maybe they were just visiting.   My grandfather was 17 years old in 1900.
There are names written on the back of this photo but they are not legible.  Photos and info courtesy of Kathleen Brown, granddaughter of Floyd Mitchell NEED HELP IDENTIFYING THIS MINE AND WHERE IT WAS LOCATED * * * * The names on the back of this photo refer to the numbers: 1.
