ADAMS, D.C., was born in Morgan County Tenn Feb 6 1823, married MARY A MILLARD of Bledsoe County Tenn, June 4 1848, died Oct 22 1895 at the house of his son in law JAMES H HAMBY, with whom he had made his home since the death of his devoted wife. It is seldom we are called upon to speak of one who has lived a life so pure and spotless. Brother Adams professed faith in Christ fifteen years ago but had never identified himself with the church. He was a Baptist in persuasion. He led a model life, was kind and an indulgent husband and father and exercised a good influence by his exemplary life, which was consistent with his profession. The funeral services conducted in the Academy by Rev H.E. PARTRIDGE was attended by a vast number of friends of the deceased. The minister said that he found a memo handed him by a friend that if the deceased had an enemy on earth he did not know it. The writer, who has known him for 24 years, has never heard a word against him or a single act of his criticized by anyone, yet how sad it is to pause at the grave of buried love. Sleep on Uncle DENNIS- Sweet be thy rest; And in Heaven may we meet, Among the pure and the blest
