LETTER FROM RALPH WINTERS
Re: Yarbrough, Trotter,
Whitehead, Dickson Research
Winters Family History Research
Clarksville, Tenn.
Sept. 23, 1965
Dear Mrs. Alexander:
I am mailing the booklet as promised- where Hurrican
Creek is mentioned it should be" HARRICANE".
The marriage records stating with 1839 do not
include- Geo Yarbrough- Isham Trotter- Benj. Whitehead or William
Dickson
Deed records show:
B-540 =Benj. Whitehead bought 320 A on Harrican Creek in 1802
B-627= Benj. Whitehead in 1804, gave his son Richard Whitehead 70 A of
above land.
Witnesses were- Isham Trotter- Geo Trotter.
I found no William Dickson early or Geo Yarbrough in
this area. However-
b-10- in Jan 1796- Edw. Dickson Sr. sold to William Dickson Jr. each
then of Duplin Co., N. C., 640 A on east fork of Bartons Creek at
"Horshoe Spring" 15 mi from Cumb. River, and marked E. D.
This would be possibly 15 to 20 mi from the Harricane Creek area.
Trace your Dickson line as far back as you can and
write Mrs. Lousie Dickson Tormley.
