MONTGOMERY COUNTY TENNESSEE
FAMILY HISTORIES
Thomas H.
Whitfield (1839-?)
"T. H. Whitfield was born December 17, 1839, and is the son of M.
(sic) Whitfield and Agnes (Boan) (sic) Whitfield. The father of
our subject was born in the year 1811, and his mother in the early part
of the present century. They were both natives of this
state. Our subject is a miller by profession, and has followed
this trade from early boyhood. In 1866 he began milling for
Ringgold Mills, of this county, and has been regularly employed there
ever since. He is an extra fine miller, and to him the people of
Montgomery County are indebted for the extra quality of flour they
receive from the mill. He is an honest, upright man, as all say
who have any dealings with him. His flour competes with the best
made in the county."
