WILLIAMSON SMITH
CIVIL WAR SOLDIER


 

    Williamson Smith lived in the Dotsonville area in Montgomery County, he was a carpenter by trade. He enlisted in the 49th Tn at Palmyra, Tn. in December of 1861 and served in H Co 49th Tn.
    He died at Port Hudson, La. in 1863 and is buried there.
    He was survived by his wife Mary two sons John and George and a daughter Louisa. George was my Grandfather who is buried in Riverview cemetery along with my Grandmother Lulu. I have never found anything on his brother John. Louisa married a Satterfield and is buried in the Dotsonville area.
