Major William E. Rubel,enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1941 and graduated a 2nd Lt. He served in the Pacific Theater and flew 77 combat missions before returning to the United States. After the war he re-enlisted in the United States Air Force, and served in SAC until he retired with 30 years service in 1962.
