b. 1-25-1835 Dickson Co. TN
d. 8-29-1898 Montgomery Co. TN married Lucy Jane Baggett on 10-18-1864 in Montgomery Co. TN.
Parents were William and Lucinda Wells Biter.
Served in the Civil War:
Enlisted on 9-13-1861 at Knoxville, TN and served in Co. C. Eleventh Regiment Tenn. Infantry serving under Lt. R. Lucas and Col. Rains. On 12-31-1862 he was wounded in the left arm in the battle of Murfreesboro under General McCowns Division.  He was Captured 1-6-1863 and sent to a military prison in Louisville KY then to Camp Butler, IL    He was paroled and discharged 9-1-1863.
