REX L. BABB
WORLD WAR II SOLDIER

 
 b. 7-22-1919 in Texas  married Margaret Biter in 1961 TN son of Charles and Lula Mangum Babb.
Joined the military in 1937 in 1939 he was a driver for General Vinegar Joe Stillwell then in the 9th
    infrantry in Ft. Bragg NC.
In 1943 he went to Airborne school in Ft. Benning Ga
In 1944 he was in the 508th INF. Regt. in Soissins, France and in the BATTLE OF THE BULGE.
In 1945 he was a guard for General Dwight Eisenhower in Frankfort Germany.  Then participated in he
    Victory Day Parade in New York.  He remained in the Military stationed at Ft. Campbell KY and
    Ft. Bragg NC till 1966 when he retired from the 1/509th infantry.
