HENRY CLAY LONG
CIVIL WAR SOLDIER

        Henry Clay Long, born October 22, 1842, on Fletcher's Fork Creek (near present-day Lake Taal dam); enlisted Company G of the 1st (Helm's) Kentucky Cavalry (CSA), and saw action at the battles of Perryville and Murfreesboro. Farmed the rest of his life on Fletcher's Fork Creek (at "Longbranch") and ran a general store there.  Died October 31, 1926, and buried in Greenwood Cemetery.
