JOHN THOMAS BELLAMY
CIVIL WAR SOLDIER

   

July 1, 1861 John enlisted in the 12th Tennessee Volunteer Infantry Regiment in Memphis Tennessee. On September 1, 1863 he was transferred and received in into the Orleans Light Horse from the 12th Tennessee Regiment. From May to June 1864 he was wounded in the hospital in Atlanta Georgia. He returned home to Clarksville at a later date. He was married to Eliazbeth Wimberly Bellamy. She died in early 1870's and he later married Nannie Ligon Keesee. They had two sons, Edward Ross Bellamy and Reuben Keesee Bellamy

 

John Thomas Bellamy's father and mother were Robert D. Bellamy and Sallie Ann Northington.
