James Runyon Suiter , my father, was the son of Irvin and Bertha Hogue Suiter, he was born in 1919 in Roane County, Tennessee, his family returned to Clarksville about 1920. He enlisted in the Navy in December 1939.  He was a ship fitter on the USS Fanning, USS Griffin, and the USS Fulton in the Asiatic Pacific Area, Phillipine Liberation and American Theater were he achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He met my mother in Australia and I was born there. My mother and I came to the United States in 1946. He passed away June 25, 2001, in Largo, FL.
