On the 17th day of October 1820 personally appeared in open court (it being a court of record for said county) Jesse Robertson aged sixty two years resident of said county who being first duly sworn acçording to law doth on his oath declare that he served in the  Revolutionary War as follows by enlisting into Capt Lytle in the 6th Regiment of North Carolina and was transferred to the first on the 8th day of January: 1778 and was discharged the 24th day of October 1799 at West Point in the state of New York original declaration dated the 28th day of May 1818 and number of pention certificate 12375 and I do solemly swore that I was a resident Citizen of the United States on the 18th day of March 1818 and that I have not since that time by gift, sale or in any manner disposed of my property, or any part thereof, with intent thereby so to diminish it as to bring myself within the provisions of an Act of Congress entitled an act to provide for certain persons engaged in the land and Naval service of the United States in the Revolutionary War, passed on the 18th day of March 1818, that I have not, nor has any person for me nor have I any income other than what is contained in the schedule hereto annexed and by me subscribed viz: one cow and yearling, one sow and eight pegs, income nothing and indebted more than is due to me, and by occupation a cooper but unable to pursue it for Rheumatic pains and old age; family consists of myself and wife the latter of whom is 66 years of age and much afflicted with Rheumatic, signed Jesse Robertson.

It is the opinion of the court that the total amount in value of the property exhibited in the aforesaid schedule of Jesse Robertson is twenty three dollars. (Minute Book l0, page 259, Montgomery Co., Tenn)
