OBITUARY OF
William Slayden
August 12, 1981

   Willam Slayden, 88 a farmer who lived at 1052 Seven Mile Ferry Road, died Wednesday at Veterans Hospital in Nashville following an extended illness.  Services will be at 1 p.m., Satur­day at First Baptist Church on Vine Street with the Rev. Will Pettus of­ficiating. Burial will be in Mt. Lebanon Cemtery in Round Pond.

Born on March 22, 1893, in Mont­gomery County, he was a World War I veteran and a member of First Baptist Church.

   He was the son of the late Lee and Nora Skelton Slayden. Survivors are his widow, Agnes Parrish Slayden, Clarksville; three sons, Willie Clay Slayden and Marshall Slayden, both of Clarksville, and Walter Lee Slayden, Frankfort, Ky. ; a daughter, Lorene Johnson, Frankfort; a sister, Venessa Collins, Hampton Sta­tion; and six grandchildren and three great-granchildren.  Pallbearers will be Finis Skelton and deacons of First Baptist Church.
