Armistead Rogers was born in  Halifax Co Virginia in 1762.    On 11 June 1781
he married Susanna Jouett, daughter of  Matthew Jouett and Sarah unknown.
Matthew’s ancestors  were Hugenot  refugees from the Ile d’ Re in France.
‘ Matthew Rogers married Bediah Whitsett on  27 September 1803 in Sumner Co
TN.
    Bediah’s name is mispelled  as Bridia and Sistler and other records show
her marrying Armistead Rogers.  In fact Armistead is bondsman along with
Bediah’s brother Lawrence Whitsett.

Armistead Rogers married Susan W. Briggs   1 January 1823 in Warren Co., KY
He died in Montgomery Co., in 1847.

Sally Rogers married John Payton  24 December 1808 in Sumner Co TN

Barbara Rogers married  William Payton 16 N ovember 1806 in Sumner Co TN

George W. Rogers  married Pirtle

Henrietta  Rogers married William Hester.  date and county unknown

William Rogers,    There is a William Rogers who is County Clerk  in
Montgomery in 1847. Because of information in Armistead’s  Will  I don’t
feel that  this is his son.

Nancy Rogers, twice married,
     1. to Lewis G Donalson  9 November 1822
     2.  Hardy S  Sypert,   5 January 1826.   This married, she is listed as
Ann C Donalson.
    Armistead may have had two other daughters, Elizabeth and Susanne. They
are not mentioned in the will and may have died in infancy.  They were listed
on a DAR application that I came accross.
