DEATH COMES TO S. P. JONES, 90

SERVICES FOR PROMlNENT FARMER WILL BE HELD AT

SALEM SUNDAY.

 

Funeral Services for B.P. Jones Prominent Salem  farmer who died

Friday night at home at the home of his son Ed Jones on Front Street.  The Funeral will be conducted 11 o’clock Sunday morning by Rev B. G. Johson and Rev. L. W. Heathly.

 

Pallbeares will be Steve Coke, Burr Hinton, Ben Irby, Charels Irby, Ed Smith and Bailey Richardson.  Mr. Jones, one of county's oldest citizens, would have been 91 on July 26. Death was due to ailments incident to age. He had come to visit  his son, here only a few weeks ago.  Born and reared in the Salem neighborhood, Mr. Jones was known to a wide circle of friends over the entire county.

 

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs W. P. Trotter and Mrs. Amanda Trotter

 of this city: Mrs. James Rose of Steele Springs, and Mrs. J. D. V. Schmttiou of Salem, and five sons, Minor, of Birmingham: Upton and John Jones, of Texas; Will Jones, of Salem and Ed and Wesley Jones, of Clarksvllle.
