Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Pleasant View Baptist church for J. I. Rose, 71 year old Steeles Springs farmer; and burial was in the Pleasant view cemetery. He died Tuesdayat his home in District 13, after a long ill­ness.  His grandsons Roy, Zollie and Otis Rose; Douglas and Leonard Bumpus served as active pallbear­ers. Mr. Rose was a lifelong resident of this county and was beloved by all his friends throughout the county.

 

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Susie Jones Rose; two sons, Jessie Rose of Carksville and Leslie Rose, Guthrie, KY; three daughters; Mrs. Garrett Rose, Mrs. Robin Bumpus and Mrs. Robert Morrison, all of Clarksville; two  brothers, Arch Rose Clarksville and Ben Rose, Sikeston Mo., and two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Morrison, Clarkville and Mrs. Sara Nails of McKenzie, Tenn.
