Smith O’Neal Wyatt, 48, Route 3, Dover, died at home Tuesday after an extended illness.  He was a carpenter, a member of Wyatt Chapel United Methodist Church and an Army veteran of the Korean conflict.  The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, with the Rev. S. P. Decker officiating.  Burial will be in Wyatt Cemetery.  He was born Jan 17, 1936 in Stewart County to William Gus and Sarah Ruth Atkins Wyatt.  He is survived by his wife, Julia Ann Peacher Wyatt; two daughters, Tammy Louise Wyatt and Cathy Renea Wyatt, both at home; a son Danny O’Neal Wyatt, Dover; four brothers, Dean and James E. Wyatt, Dover; Wilton Wyatt, Clarksville, and Thomas Wyatt, Nashville; four sisters, Lucille Smith, Clarksville, Eva Mae Crain, Dover, Sheila Waldrop, Pembroke, KY, and Judy Duryea, Seattle, WA.  Pallbearers will be Owen Wyatt, David Wyatt, Tommy Wyatt, Phillip Wyatt, Paul Elliott and Doug Futrell.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of Stewart County Bass Club.

(Note:  On his paternal side, Smith O’Neal Wyatt was a great grandson of Mitchell James Wyatt and Winnie Alice Smith Wyatt, and a gg grandson of Bazel and Martha Hood Smith.  On his maternal side, he was also a gg grandson of Bazel and Martha Hood Smith and a ggg grandson of Rev. War soldier Lewis Atkins.)
