Janie M. Lewis Norfleet

Indian Mound –

Mrs. Janie M. Norfleet, 61, died Saturday in Clarksville Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.  Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Milligan Funeral Home by the Rev. Noble Peavyhouse.  Burial will be in Hall Cemetery.  Mrs. Norfleet was born in Stewart County Feb 8, 1911, daughter of the late Oscar I. and Nannie Byrd Lewis.  She was a member of Rose Valley United Methodist Church.  Survivors are her husband, Halliday Norfleet, whom she married 27 Sep 1937; a son, Billy Norfleet, Indian Mound; one daughter, Mrs. Taylor Henry, Jr., Atlanta, GA; a brother, Oscar I. Lewis, Jr.; Indian Mound; four sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Vaughan and Mrs. Maggie Shepherd, both of Clarksville; Mrs. Birdie Hargis, Hopkinsville, KY, and Mrs. Nell Crow, Ft. Richardson, Alaska; two grandchildren.  Pallbearers will be Acrie and Angers Norfleet, Wylie Byrd, Fulton Edwards, Allen Lewis and Gus Norfleet. 

(Janie M. Lewis Norfleet was a ggg granddaughter of two Rev. War soldiers - Thomas Lewis and Lewis Atkins.)
