Mr. Charlie Wyatt Dies, Services Held Sept. 19

Mr. Charlie C. Wyatt 61, Dover, Route 3, died at the Veterans Hospital in Nashville on Sept. 18.  Funeral services were held Sept. 19 at 2:30 p.m. at the Wyatts Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Dewlyn Fryer officiating.  Burial was in the Wyatts Cemetery.  Mr. Walter Bryant was in charge of song service and Milligan and Ridgeway were in charge of the funeral arrangements.  Mr. Wyatt was a veteran of World War I and the flag was presented by Mr. Nova Wallace.  He was a life resident of Stewart County and a son of the late William Thompson and Willie Bell Wall Wyatt.  He was first married to the late Emma Cheatham who died May 30, 1934.  On March 7, 1938, he was married to Emma D. Tanner Wyatt.  Survivors include his wife, three sons, Mr. Elton Wyatt, Pontiac, Mich.; Mr. Mitchell Wyatt, Clarksville, Tenn.; and Mr. Tanner Wyatt, Dover; three daughters, Mrs. Richard Cummings, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Harry J. Barnum, Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Milton Miracle, Clarksville, Tenn.; three brothers, Mr. Allen Wyatt, Granite City, Ill.; Mr. Haywood and Monroe Wyatt of Dover; four sisters, Mrs. Stella Keel; Mrs. Irene Knight, Dover; Mrs. Gertie Cheatham, Harris, Ill.; and Mrs. Neva Brumley, Clarksville, Tenn.

(Note:  Charlie Wyatt was a grandson of Mitchell James Wyatt, one of the Wyatt twins raised by Charles and Rachel Atkins Roper in Stewart Co., TN.  Charlie was a great grandson of Bazel and Martha Hood Smith.  His mother, Willie Bell Wall Wyatt, was the great granddaughter of Rev War soldier Lewis Atkins.)
