J. H. Atkins, 73, died
Sunday night enroute to Clarksville
Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness.He was a resident of 216
K Street, New Providence.
Funeral services will be
conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at
Wyatt's Chapel Methodist Church. Burial
will be in the Hall Cemetery, Milligan Funeral Home, Dover, in charge.
Mr. Atkins was born June
16, 1893, son of the late Charlie
and Mattie Atkins. He was a member of
the Methodist Church.
Survivors are his wife,
Mrs. Betty Legate Atkins; two sons,
Jesse Atkins, Clarksville; and Evans Atkins, Nashville; three
daughters, Mrs.
Earl Coleman, Mrs. Robert White and Mrs. Art Cavins, all of Chicago;
two
brothers, Allen Atkins, Clarksville; and Paul Atkins, Cumberland City;
three
sisters, Mrs. May King, Granite City, IL; Mrs. Maggie Wallace, Cub
Creek, TN;
and Mrs. Ruth Wyatt, Big Rock, TN; 12 grandchildren and 12 great
grandchildren. The
body is at the
funeral home.
