Herman Lee Wilson, 64,
died Friday at Memorial Hospital,
Clarksville, after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. at Milligan Funeral
Home, the
Rev. Joe Moore officiating. Burial will
be in the Wyatt Cemetery at the Big A community. Mr.
Wilson was born in Stewart County April 17, 1909, the son of
the late Alvin and Mattie Bryant Wilson.
He is survived by his widow, Roberta Wyatt Wilson.
They were married May 15, 1931. Mr.
Wilson is also survived by three
daughters, Mrs. Opal Pope, Allegre, KY; Mrs. Thelma Castile, and Mrs.
Vickie
Mullins, both of Dover; three brothers, Otis Wilson, Clarksville;
Clarence
Wilson and Alton Wilson, both of Dover; three sisters, Mrs. Winnie
Knight,
Clarksville and Mrs. Mary Elliott and Mrs. Martha Wyatt, both of Dover;
and
nine grandchildren. He was a member of
the Methodist Church and was a retired Stewart County truck and school
bus
driver. Pallbearers
will be Walter and
Raymon Bryant, Haywood, Reed and Bruce Wyatt, and Paul Elliott.
(Note: Herman Lee Wilson’s paternal great grandparents were Winnie Smith and Mitchell Wyatt, one of the Wyatt twins raised by Rachel Atkins and Charles Roper in Stewart Co., TN. Herman’s maternal ggg grandfather was Rev. War soldier Lewis Atkins.)
