Mrs. Mullins’ Funeral Held on December 18

Funeral services for Mrs. Beatrice Earline Mullins, 27, who died at the Clarksville Hospital, December 17 at 9:45 p.m. after suffering an illness of one month, were held Thursday, December 18, at 2:00 p.m. at the Rose Valley Methodist Church by the Rev. George O. Douglas.  Song service was conducted by Horace Wallace, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McGinnis, and Mrs. and Mrs. Walter Bryant, with Mrs. Ivin Crockarell at the piano.  Burial was in the Rose Valley cemetery with Milligan and Ridgeway in charge.  Mrs. Mullins was born at Indian Mound, Tennessee, June 27, 1920.  She was the daughter of Oscar Gafford and the late Lola Mae Wyatt.  She spent her entire life in this county and on June 13, 1937 she was married to Gaither Mullins who survives.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pleasant Grove.  Surviving are her father, Oscar Gafford, her husband, Gaither Mullins, one daughter, Linda Mae Mullins; one brother, Herschel Gafford and one sister, Mrs. Nina Milliken, all of Indian Mound, Tennessee.  Pallbearers were Chell Keatts, Cleo Ford, Clark Crockarell, Franklin Summers, Clifton Gafford and Clarence Keatts. 

(Note:  Beatrice was a daughter of Lola Mae Wyatt, whose grandmother was Rachel Miranda Roper Wyatt, making Beatrice a gg granddaughter of Charles and Rachel Atkins  Roper and the ggg granddaughter of Rev. War soldier Lewis Atkins.)
