Bailey George Heflin
July 8, 1916 – Feb 20, 1977

Dover –Bailey George Heflin, 60, died Sunday at his home in Big Rock after a short illness.  He was owner and operator of Big Rock Industries, a pallet manufacturer.  Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Anglin Memorial Chapel, with Joe Dunn and Lytle Jones, ministers, officiating.  Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Indian Mound.  He was born in Stewart County July 8, 1916, son of the late Charlie and Rosabell Harrison Heflin.  His wife, Iris Atkins Heflin, survives.  Other survivors include a son, Bailey G. Heflin, Jr., Nashville; two daughters, Mrs. Brenda Hunter, Hopkinsville, KY; and Mrs. Connie Anderson, Roanoke, VA; three brothers, Edward, Phoenix, AZ; Roy of Indian Mound, and Garner Heflin, Detroit; four sisters, Mrs. Louise Smith, Mrs. Lorene Suiter, and Mrs. Eva Lewis, all of Clarksville; and Mrs. Jewel Key of Guthrie, KY; three grandchildren.  He was a member of the Sycamore Flatt Church of Christ.

(Iris Atkins Heflin, widow of Bailey George Heflin, was a daughter of Thomas Lewis Atkins, Sr., and descendant of Rev War soldier Lewis Atkins.)
