Flossie Wilson Cherry

Flossie Cherry, 84, of Indian Mound, died Wednesday at Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.  Services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, at Anglin Memorial Chapel, Dover, with Brother George Sanford officiating.  Burial will be in Wilson-Atkins Cemetery, Indian Mound.  Mrs. Cherry was born in Stewart County Sept. 4, 1895, the daughter of the late George H. and Martha Atkins Wilson.  Her husband, Dr. E. M. Cherry, preceded her in death in 1932.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church.  Survivors are two sons, Wilson Cherry, Fontana, Calif., and James Cherry, Chicago, Ill; one daughter, Miss Merle Cherry, Indian Mound; three sisters, Miss Sophia Wilson; Miss Lettye Wilson; and Mrs. Ella Legate, all of Indian Mound; and six grandchildren.  Pallbearers will be Phillip Legate, Gary Knight, Eric McGregor, Tony Knight, Mark Forster and David Forster.

(Note:  Flossie was a gg granddaughter of Rev. War soldier Lewis Atkins.)
