Paul Charles Atkins
Apr 4, 1895 – May 15, 1973

Paul Charles Atkins, 78, retired farmer, died Tuesday in General Care Convalescent Center, Clarksville, after an extended illness.  Funeral services were conducted Thursday, May 17 at 1 p.m. at Milligan Funeral Home by the Rev. Harvey Turner.  Burial was in the Ft. Donelson National Cemetery.  Mr. Atkins was born in Stewart Co., April 4, 1895, son of the late Charlie and Mattie Wyatt Atkins.  His wife, Ethel Norfleet Atkins, preceded him in death.  He was a member of the United Methodist Church and was a veteran of World War I.  Survivors are three sons, Charles, Weatherford, Tex.; Reams and William Atkins, Trinidad, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Herndon, Clarksville; and Mrs. Ann Steeley, Dover; three sisters, Mrs. Horace Wallace and Mrs. Gus Wyatt, Indian Mound; Mrs. May King, Granite City, Ill; 20 grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

(Note:  Paul Charles Atkins was a gg grandson of Rev. War soldier Lewis Atkins.  His father’s mother was Frances Smith, daughter of Bazel and Martha Hood Smith.)
