Lula Mae Griffin Threatt Howell
1868 - 1950

Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Howell, 62 were held this afternoon at Wyatts Chapel.  The Rev. Eunice Crow officiated and burial was in the Bagwell Cemetery.  Pallbearers were her grandsons, John Franklin and William Joseph Smith, Hubert, Wayne, Elmer, Enis, James, and Eugene Threatt.  Wiseman had charge.

Mrs. Howell died Tue. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Georgia Smith of Indian Mound, after a long illness.

She was a native of Stewart Co. and was born June 16, 1868, the daughter of the late George and Mary Ann Stamper Griffin.  She was first married to Miles Threatt, whose death occurred in 1917. Later she was married to H.B. Howell, who also preceded her in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mamie Threatt Adams, and 3 sons, Ermon Threatt, Big Rock; Wilbur Threatt, Dover and Willie Threatt, Indian Mound. She also leaves a brother, William J. Griffin, Indian Mound; a sister, Mrs. Jennie Threatt, Granite City, Ill., and 23 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

(Note:  Lula Mae Griffin (1868-1950) was first married to Miles Threatt, grandson of Charles and Rachel Roper.)
