William Glenn Smith

William Smith, 73, a retired electrician, died Monday at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville after an extended illness.  Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Anglin Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Brian Fyke officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Indian Mound.  He was a member of the Indian Mound United Methodist Church and a member of Indian Mound Masonic Lodge 303.  Masonic rites will be conducted at graveside.  Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Born July 13, 1909 in Stewart County, he was the son of Isaac W. Smith and Buena Gillum Smith.  Survivors include his wife, Clara Byrd Smith; two sons, Dalton Byrd Smith of Clarksville, the manager of the Department of Electricity; and Walter Edward Smith of Dover; two daughters, Nancy Hurst of Clarksville and Alma Vaughan of Indian Mound; a brother Marvin Smith of Lake Wales, FL, two sisters Frances Byrd of Clarksville and Irene Norfleet of Zolfo Springs, FL, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
