Ravyn Alfred Atkins, 39, died of apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound Tuesday. He was a resident of 1511 Madison Street.  Funeral services will be at Nave's Clarksville Chapel by the Rev. Virgil Allison.  Burial will be in Smith Cemetery, Big Rock.  Mr. Atkins was born in Stewart Co., Dec 25, 1935, but had lived in Montgomery Co. all his life.  He was the son of Mrs. Geneva Joiner Atkins Armstrong, Clarksville, and the late Earl Atkins.  He was a member of Gracey Ave. Baptist Church and a Navy veteran.  Survivors in addition to his mother are his widow, Mrs. Linda Landrum Atkins, whom he married June 19, 1954; a son, Danny Atkins, Clarksville.  Pallbearers will be Maxey Myers, Dale Joiner, Howard Bochette, Bill Sizemore, Odell Joiner and Linnis Turner.  McReynolds Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, but the body will remain in Nave's Clarksville on Madison Street through the hour of service.

(Note:  Ravyn Alfred Atkins was a gggg grandson of Rev. War soldier Lewis Atkins.)
