Indian Mound – Mrs. Ella Eliza Lewis, 86, of Indian Mound, died Thursday at 6:25 p.m. in Memorial Hospital in Clarksville. She had been ill five weeks. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Wyatt’s Chapel Methodist Church by the Rev. Howard Springer, assisted by Rev. Delwyn Fryer. Burial will be in the Lewis Cemetery, Route 2, Dover. The body is at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Mary Bryant, Route 2, Indian Mound. Milligan Funeral Home of Dover is in charge. She was a native of Stewart County, born December 28, 1875, daughter of the late Jim and Martha Edwards Givins. Her husband, Willie Houston Lewis, died in 1927. She was a member of the Wyatt’s Chapel Methodist Church. Survivors are two sons, Oscar and Allen Lewis, Clarksville; four daughters, Mrs. Lewis Atkins and Mrs. Mattie Key, both of Clarksville, and Mrs. Lena Bryant, and Mrs. Mary Bryant, both of Indian Mound; a brother, Walter Givins, Indian Mound; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Byrd, Mrs. Lula Holliday and Mrs. Penny Smith, all of Indian Mound; and Mrs. Fannie Cherry; Nashville; 29 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
