Everette Glen Atkins, 81, of Dover, TN, passed away on April 12, 2004 at his home after an extended battle with cancer.  Mr. Atkins was born on June 1, 1922 in Indian Mound, TN, son of Thomas and Nina Milam Atkins, was a retired forester and a lifelong resident of Stewart County.  He was a veteran of World War II and was awarded four bronze stars after engaging in infantry combat from Normandy thru Germany.  Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Daisy Earlene Smith Atkins, sons Larry Atkins, Dover, TN; Tommy Atkins, Hopkinsville, KY; Randy Atkins, Bumpus Mills, TN; daughters Glenda Austin, Janice Atkins, Kathy Atkins, and Cindy Koonz, all of Dover, TN; brothers Harold Atkins and Clinton Atkins of Indian Mound, TN; and sister Jeweldean Levi of Clarksville, TN; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  Funeral service for Mr. Atkins will be at Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, on Thursday, April 15, 2004 at 2:00 p.m.  Committal will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Indian Mound, TN.

(Note:  Everette Glen Atkins was a ggg grandson of Rev. War soldier Lewis Atkins.)
