Bertie Ethel Mann Atkins

Bertie E. Atkins, 76, died Saturday at Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.  She was a resident of 205 Orchard Road and a member of the First Presbyterian Church.  Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Tarpley's Chapel with the Rev. George Gracey officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.  Mrs. Atkins was born Jan 15, 1906 in Stewart County, the daughter of the late William D. Mann and Nora Equals Mann.  Her husband, James Irvin Atkins, died in 1978.  Survivors include two sons, Rex Atkins of Lebanon, and Don Atkins of Clarksville; one daughter, Mrs. Frank Welker of Clarksville; one brother Jack Mann of Indian Mound; eight grandchildren; and three great granchildren.  Pallbearers will be Eddie Welker, Steve Atkins, Rex Atkins, Scott Atkins, Dannie Goad and Stanely Batson.
