Rites Friday for Mrs. Gafford

Mrs. Annie Wyatt Gafford, 81, died Thursday at her home on Route 2, Indian Mound, after an illness of about one year.  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Rose Valley Methodist Church.  Rev. Dee R. Poole officiated and burial was in Heflin Cemetery with Milligan and Ridgeway in charge.  Grandsons served as pallbearers.  Mr. Horace Wallace and Mr. Acree Norfleet were in charge of the song service with Mrs. Mamie Crockarell at the piano.  Mrs. Gafford was a lifelong resident of Stewart County and daughter of the late John and Mary Robertson Wyatt.  Her husband, Samuel Houston Gafford, died in 1951.  She was a member of the Methodist Church.  Survivors include five sons, Oscar, Clarence, Bufford and Lee Gafford, Indian Mound, TN; Clifton Gafford, Dover; four daughters, Mrs. Roy Legate, Mrs. Chesley Keatts, Clarksville; Mrs. Delmer Lee, Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Marvin Heflin, Indian Mound; 24 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
