Leonidas Eddy Wyatt

Leonidas Eddy Wyatt, 74, died at 12:30
p.m. Wednesday in
Memorial Hospital after an illness of four weeks. He
was a resident of Lacy Lane and was a retired shop foreman for
the Merritt Lumber Company. Funeral
services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tarpley’s by the Rev.
T. H.
Yeargan. Burial will be in
Greenwood. Mr. Wyatt was born February
2, 1891 in Stewart County, and had lived in Montgomery County since
1918. He was the son of the late Isaac and
Malissa
Darr Wyatt. November 19, 1911, he was
married to Miss Lettie Lewis, who survives.
Survivors besides his widow are three daughters, Mrs. Thomas L.
Clements, Mrs. Frank Carobene, Clarksville; and Mrs. Robert Smith, Fort
Campbell, KY; a brother, Ewing Wyatt, Clarksville; five sisters, Mrs.
Georgia
Elliott, Mrs. Callie Harrison, Mrs. Ida Elliott, and Mrs. Edna Butts,
Clarksville; and Mrs. Wallace Powell, Murfreesboro, TN; four
grandchildren, 11
great grandchildren. He was a member of
the Wyatt’s Chapel Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Elliott, Ray Wyatt, Smith Elliott,
Wyatt
Powell, Claude Harrison, Arnold Butts, Buford Elliott, and Powell Wyatt.
(Leonidas Eddy Wyatt was a grandson of Winnie Smith and
Mitchell James Wyatt, one of the Wyatt twins raised by Charles and
Rachel
Atkins Roper in Stewart County. He was
a great grandson of Bazel and Martha Hood Smith.)
