Willie Miles Threatt
May 30, 1903 – May 15, 1973

Dover-Willie Miles Threatt, 69, retired farmer, died Tuesday in a Nashville hospital after a sudden illness.  Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at Milligan Funeral Home by the Rev. Morris Lee.  Burial will be in Red Top Cemetery.  Mr. Threatt was born in Stewart Co., May 30, 1903, son of the late Miles and Loula Griffin Threatt.  He was a member of the Big Rock Baptist Church.  Survivors are four sons, Jimmy and William, Indian Mound; James, Clarksville; Eldridge Threatt, Memphis; two daughters, Mrs. Lorene Shepherd, Dover; Mrs. Margie Williams, Big Rock; a sister, Mrs. Georgia Smith, Indian Mound; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren.  Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

(Note:  Willie Miles Threatt was a grandson of Martha L. Roper and Matthew James Threatt.  He was a great grandson of Rachel Atkins and Charles Roper and a 2^nd great grandson of Rev. War soldier Lewis Atkins and his wife Rebecca.)
